With a new musical score and performed by our Youth Performance Troupe senior company, the newly revised Stage Fright will debut in October 2023 at Porch Light's Glen Rock and new Cedar Grove theatre!
Halloween is a special night, full of mystery and mayhem. It is a time-honored tradition to share haunted legends and tales of horror. This is one of those stories…
A group of close friends and one tag-along-brother are out for a fun filled night of tricks and treats. As the sugar-filled impulses take hold, they wander farther and farther from home. Before long, they realize they have crossed over to Samhain Road, an infamous block where only those brave enough to venture have gone. As myth would have it, this was the residence the evil Old Lady Fargus, an immortal sorcerer witch with an immense power in wielding the dark arts. Her home is rumored to be filled with creatures and monsters of all sorts. So no one would ever dare to knock on her dreadful door. Yet despite their better judgment, the group tests fate and approaches the creepy home in one last attempt for those tasty chocolate treats. Before they can finish the words “Trick-or…” they are greeted by a gnarly gaggle of beasts and their lethal leader - Old. Lady. Fargus!!!
Held captive inside her wicked home, the kids find themselves surrounded by maddening monsters and a crew of zestless zombies and the methods to Fargus's madness are revealed. Will the kids find their way out or succumb to the monster's evil plans. Is there still a chance for a Happy Halloween. Come find out... if you dare!
Stage Fright was originally presented as a series of ‘monster monologues’ modestly staged in 2009. In 2010, creator Ryan Pifher, expanded it into a one-act play, then a one-act musical and finally into a two-act musical (with many edits and rewrites along the way!). In 2013, Stage Fright was awarded Outstanding Production of an Original Musical. In 2020, ten years after the original staging, Pifher debuted the sequel, Stage Fright: Resurrection. Stage Fright: An Original Halloween Musical returns to the stage in October 2023 with all new original music!
